Tulip Bakery

Owned and operated by the same family for over 50 years, the Tulip is a classic old fashion bakery. Go early for fresh bread & donuts, late afternoon for cookies hot out of the oven. Respectable selection of cheap & tasty day olds. Totally worth the trip from any other point in the city!

Not to mention the friendly atmosphere; whoever's working as well as literally all the customers are willing to strike up conversation, and that after just one or two trips there they'll remember who you are as soon as you walk in.

Good snacks and great holiday treats. They always have seasonal goodies like Hot Cross Buns for Easter, Pumpkin and Mince Pies, Fruit Cake that actually tastes good and, around Christmas, Peanut Brittle, Fudge, and Almond Roca (better get there early in the season cuz the candy runs out fast).

If you want an amazing and authentic eclair, this is the place. It is my favorite bakery in town because it is completely unpretentious and it delivers the goods.

Wonderful bakery with wonderful people. Worth the trip to try their bbq pork rolls & breakfast sausage rolls - oh and don't forget the euclairs. You will not be dissapointed.

This is my favorite bakery in Portland. The folks are really nice, and the cakes are wonderful! They made a really cool volcano cake when my nephews were out visiting, complete with lava and burning trees. They also made two Wii remote cakes for a party - anatomically correct. Not only were they beautiful and fun, they tasted delicious as well. Their donuts are the best in town, too. My husband and I try to force ourselves to bike there so we can justify the wickedness. Yum!
