While East Coast Style pizza is definitely my thing, every once in a while I’ll make a trip out to the far side of Tabor for Flying Pie. Located in Montavilla’s “downtown”, Flying Pie feels worn in, but in the good old-school pizza parlor type of way. Yes, pizza parlor, the type of place that coach would take the little league after a game on Saturday. Red vinyl benches and sports memorabilia on the walls. Pizza parlor! If you show up between 11–3 on weekdays you can order a huge-arsed slice topped your way. If you are of the vegan persuasion, that means you can order it sans frommage! You can also opt for not-really-vegan soy cheese. And don’t forget the bread sticks.
