Microcosm Publishing has a retail storefront in SE Portland! Even though they’ve had one (or two, or three) for years now, it’s still a surprise to many people. Maybe it’s just a hidden gem like that—tucked away in an industrial building sharing a space with three printers (Printed Matter screen printing, Eberhardt Press offset printing, and Fortress letterpress) is a room jam-packed with colorful shelves and shelves of zines and books. Not only do they carry their published and distributed titles (and stickers, and patches, and buttons, and posters, and shirts, and, and…!) but they have hundreds upon hundreds of other books (with sections like Espionage, DIY, & Chomsky). A lot of those books are ‘hurts’, or perfectly good-looking books selling for half-price (or less!). Check it!
