Muddy Waters Coffeehouse

You may think last thing this part of town needs is another coffee joint. But I always say there’s room for more good coffee places, especially to counter the corporate (or wanna-be corporate) coffee infiltrating inner SE. (And yes, this includes Peet’s.) Muddy Waters is a welcome addition to Belmont. Great coffee, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and a decent food selection. This is the type of place that encourages you to while away the day here. No relation to the over-rated java joint in San Francisco.

WARNING - Hanging your artwork on the walls here may result in that art being STOLEN, as happened to one artist I know who had a show there.

This coffeeshop is the best on Belmont offering great coffee drinks, sandwiches and a variety of baked goods. The events there are some of the most entertaining (Bingo and Open Mic nights), and provide a great alternative to smoky bars and bad bands in other places on Belmont.

Having hung out there quite a bit, I have seen that artwork is hung by the artists, those who choose not to secure it are left to their own devices.
