Hoyt Arboretum
A tree-hugger’s paradise! This is a 214 acre “tree museum” on the western tip of Washington Park. 4,300 different trees and over 800 types of shrubs are on display here. The Arboretum has the largest collection of coniferous (boreal) trees anywhere in the world. The collection includes rare trees, like the long-thought-to-be-extinct Dawn Redwood from China, plus traditional west-coast team-players Giant Sequoias, Coast Redwoods, and Douglas Firs. Learn about our friends the trees whilst romping through a hipster-free environment.
