Tryon Creek State Park

A bit off the beaten path, but worth noting. This nature park is situated in a valley along Tyron Creek, one of the last free-flowing streams to be found in Portland. Fourteen miles of trail meander through the park’s forested slopes, including a paved all-abilities access trail, an equestrian trail, and a bike path that parallels Terwilliger Blvd. (If you ever need to get to—shudder—Lake Oswego on bike, this path is gonna be your best bet.) There’s also a nature center (located at 11321 SW Terwilliger Blvd) if you’re into that.
