Independent Publishing Resource Center (IPRC)

The IPRC, short for Independent Publishing Resource Center, is located upstairs from Reading Frenzy in the North Pacific Bldg. The IPRC facilitates creative expression and identity by providing individual access to the resources and tools for the creation of independently published media and art. They are a non profit resource center which includes a zine lending library (with library cards available to all), zine workspace and supplies, and a computer lab. Other things available are a copier, book binding supplies, letterpresses, a mimeograph machine, art gallery, and more. Workshops on various aspects of independent publishing and DIY art are available. The IPRC is open to members (sliding scale yearly membership starting at $40) and to non-members (for a small hourly fee). Make sure to check out Reading Frenzy (see separate listing) when you’re here, because no zine-related visit to Portland is complete without visiting Reading Frenzy and the IPRC!!!

When I was a kid, aged 10 to 16, I did a lot of mimeo'ing, a family newspaper, and things I did to earn money. I still have a lot of the stuff. Are you still "into" mimeo? If so, I might contribute some materials. It would be fun to stop into your place.

Hello, Jim. The "comments" on review pages were never intended to be a form of communication with what's reviewed. They probably won't see it. Please use the information provided above (their website and their phone number) to ask the IPRC if they are all still into the mimeo. (Rumor has it they are.)
